Developer Evangelist

We’re looking for our first Developer Evangelist to join the Fingerprint team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for growing our community by exciting and engaging developers through content and conversations. As the pulse of the community, you’ll lead the discussion around technology trends and device identification best practices. This role is ideal for someone who wants to get hands-on by writing sample code, authoring compelling technical content, speaking at conferences, and working with Fingerprint users, partners, and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead conversations around the latest technology advancements and best practices in the developer community.
  • Create engaging content, including technical talks, blog posts, demos, and videos designed to educate developers on important technologies and trends.
  • Develop practical how-to content on how to leverage Fingerprint for a variety of use cases, from fraud prevention to UX to analytics.
  • Support Fingerprint’s product and engineering efforts by sharing what you learn while engaging with the wider community.
  • Attend virtual and in-person events within the developer community that best match our target audiences.
  • Provide insights to improve our product messaging and positioning to our developer audiences.
  • Share product feedback with appropriate internal stakeholders regularly.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience with software development, including proficiency with web development, JavaScript, TypeScript, frontend frameworks, Node.js, and React.
  • At least one year of experience in developer advocacy/relations, community development, technical product marketing, and/or product management.
  • Demonstrable experience developing technical content for developer audiences such as blogs, demos, workshops, webinars, and videos.
  • Experience working at a technical software startup.
  • Knowledge of Discord, GitHub, and Reddit best practices.
  • A record of contributions (e.g., on GitHub) is required.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple and intuitive communications.

Compensation Range: $110,000 - 160,000

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US based roles based on function, level and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
