What will you be doing?

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior Developer Advocate to play a pivotal role in driving our community engagement efforts and shaping the future of our platform. Your passion for building relationships and creating meaningful connections will help us expand our reach, and enable us to deliver impactful events that bring developers together to learn, share, and grow. With your leadership and expertise, we'll be able to cultivate a thriving ecosystem of partners and advocates, while also empowering our users to achieve their full potential.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing our events program, including livestreams, local meetups, and partnership collaborations with other vendors. You will focus on organizing multiple partnership events with a live workshop component, while also supporting and growing grassroots support for our community at local meetups and conferences.

You will be reporting to the Head of Developer Relations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, organize, and execute engaging events, such as livestreams, local meetups, workshops, webinars, and conferences, in collaboration with other vendors and partners.
  • Building a pipeline of partner collaborations, and coordinating with those partners to deliver interesting events for our audience and theirs.
  • Represent Appsmith at industry events, delivering presentations, demos, and workshops that showcase our products and inspire developers to adopt them.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers, thought leaders, and developer communities to drive collaboration and partnership opportunities.
  • Should be a master communicator of technical ideas, both as a writer and a speaker.
  • Be able to think practical business use-cases, either through personal experience or through connecting with developers.
  • Be able to understand use cases, personas, and software in a business context.
  • Track and analyze event performance, community engagement metrics, and other KPIs to inform future strategies and ensure the continued growth and success of our developer relations efforts.

Skills that will help you excel at this job:

  • Self starter with a growth mindset
  • 5+ years for Senior Devrel in a developer relations, developer advocacy, or community management role, preferably within the software or technology industry.
  • Strong technical background, with experience using Appsmith or similar platforms.
  • Excellent public speaking, demo, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of end to end planning and executing successful events and workshops.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with social media, online forums, and other platforms used by the developer community.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Developer who is comfortable with building prototypes and demos using APIs, SQL and JS
  • Approachable personality and deeply collaborative nature
